MEGARARE Barclay Records very first High Fidelity MONO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1968 by Goluboff Industrias Fonográficas S.A. (Goluboff Records), catalog number BCY-29, with machine etched matrix numbers DJ 30033 A in Side 1 and DJ 30033 B XX in Side 2, with unusual white/black Barclay Records labels. In matrix numbers of Side B you can see an error, it was etched “DJ 33033”, so the second “3” is scratched and a “0” is over etched. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for Dalida lovers, fans and collectors!!!

“OLYMPIA 67” was originally released in 1967 but we had to wait until 1968 to see this great compilation album released here in Chile and like so many times in that period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of two single sheets of cardboard for front and back cover, kept together for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps strictly the original French artwork, with the picture of Dalida, with the only difference that at bottom right corner is the Chilean title written in Spanish only, “Dalida At The Olympia”, and at top edge is the Barclay Records logo inside a green box with the Chilean catalog number. Back cover is totally different, it has the album title written in Spanish only and the tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to French, with other 4 records recommended as “Other Hits From The “Barclay” Records” (Charles Aznavour, Baden Powell, Mireille Mathieu and Alain Barriere). If you know this album by Dalida then you could already noticed that in Chile we got an UNIQUE TRACKLIST!!! Yes, you can see the original French tracklist in this link: http://www.discogs.com/Dalida-Olympia-67/release/1647545, and you can compare with the tracklist in this megarare Chilean issue, here in Chile we got 2 songs replaced, the song “Petit Homme” was replaced by “PAUVRE COEUR” as 6th song of Side 1 and song “Ciao Amore Ciao” was replaced by “LE GENTS SONT FOUS” as 4th song of Side 2!!! In labels the album title is written in Spanish only, with the tracklist written in Spanish, translated to French, with full credits for songwriters of each song. So, here you have a chance to get and own this classic album by Dalida with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE TRACKLIST and UNIQUE ERROR!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition the front cover, no writings, no ring marks, only minimal wear in all edges, more evident at corners, light creases and a very little rip and age browning in the mouth edge, and in VG or VG+ condition the back cover, complete, clear and clean, with some rips in the mouth edge, wear in corners, evident age browning, light creases and a writing, “L1”, above the name Dalida. The record is in EX- or EX condition both sides, still glossy and clean, but with scuffs, soft hairlines and very light scratches hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in great VG+ or EX- condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, light age browning and some discoloration. The sound is the best part, it’s in great EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a very soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with very light occasional crackles and minimal pops here and there, more evident in silent parts between the tracks, which don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall maybe this is not a record for Minty minds or audiophiles, but it still keeps a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and still amazing sound quality after about 47 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER, the UNIQUE TRACKLIST and UNIQUE MATRIX ERROR!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for.
