I really don't know how to list something like this, this is original cover art for a pretty good split record. Sure, it's no Faith/Void, DeathSide/Chaos UK, Heresy/Concrete Sox or Code of Honor/Sick Pleasure-but this is a great modern day split record for sure worth owning. I mean I don't really constitute it as 'art' like some famous painting as I assume that's what sells in the 'art' category typically or perhaps an original page from a comic book of notoriety. But,, I always found that punk/HC art at least somewhat resonates with comic art because the styles pending on the artist can be somewhat similar looking at times, but again this still isn't comic art either. So, I tried to play it safe and put it under the record category assuming that perhaps a person on a whim who'd be searching for something like this would also be crushing the web for records, esp seeing that the art here was used as cover art for a punk record by a person who was in one of the bands.
So, this art has been around and about a little bit. It was sold, then returned via USPS for an incomplete address and then gotten back to the band, to then get put in the hands of another person who's close with the band. So yes, that history lesson all aside, this is the original art for the Culo/Tenement split EP, where 1 band did the front cover & the other band did the back cover. Both bands did their own center label art though, and the differences between the 2 couldn't be anymore different-musically is already a given, but there is still though many different common bonds between the 2 groups which is why in the end it wasn't so strange that the 2 bands would do a split. I can't remember what brand of sketch pad Mr G used for when he drew this and any of his other works, but yes it was a spiral sketch pad with all of the loose paper ends trimmed off making the sheet of paper 7.5'' by 9 3/4''. Inspect the photos to note the slight bleed thru to the other side of the paper as well as all the shading, the fact the band's name/font was cut and pasted onto the center of the darkest part of 'hair' on the decaying head at side/center.
Again, though not the record, it is the original cover art/drawing that was drawn by Nate for this split EP.
Will be sent in a protected mailer, although to give you a heads up that there is a minor crease about 2 inches right on the top left corner of the paper and a very small curl on the bottom left edge/runoff of the paper, but there's no wear otherwise to it, no rips or tears, stains, holes, smudge marks, ink smearing or drag markings, weird erase marks, etc.
And I don't know what's fair for this, so I will put it up and see what happens. If a fair offer comes up, then great. But this is more of a curiosity thing if anything.
