CROSBY, STILLS & NASH - ONE-SIDED TEST PRESSING: “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” - 1969
This is a one-sided 7-inch 45 RPM test pressing of the iconic hit “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” recorded at the Atlantic Recording Studios in New York and issued as a single by Atlantic Records in February of 1969 and included on their debut album that year.
Written by Stephen Stills about his relationship with singer/songwriter Judy Collins, “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” was included in Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list in 2004 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s list of 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll.
Label: white blank label with title, artist, and release number written in ink.
Vinyl: M- (mint minus) with plenty of shine.
Provenance: This copy originally belonged to Boston area disc jockey and program director Ken Rapoza who died in 1987. Ken had a strong relationship with labels including Atlantic and Columbia and frequently received test pressings and even acetates to play on the air to gauge a new record's potential. After his death, his collection was inherited by another Massachusetts collector who kept it in storage until his death last year.
