Track Listing: NSU, Sleepy Time Time, Dreaming, Sweet Wine, Spoonful,Cat’s Squirrel, Four Until Late, Rollin’ and Tumblin’, I’m So Glad, Toad.
The Vinyl: the vinyl on this album is at least graded EX+ if not M- with very light hairlines visible under light, it has a nice sheen.
The Label: original reaction deep mauve and silver, in excellent condition with slight spindle traces and light wear, a couple of really nice early labels in great condition.
The Cover: here we have a classic early Ernest j. Day & co Ltd, London, W.1. Patent Pending cover.
The lamination on the front is in excellent + condition, nice and shiny, with the lightest of edge wear, the spine which on this sleeve design was never laminated is quite worn due to use and the text is not readable. All in all a great early cover, 38 YEARS OLD !
the inner sleeve is the original and is in used condition, with some creasing and discoloration, again showing it's age.
The Sound: I put this on the turntable and was amazed ! the sound is Awesome, with virtually zero surface noise, no pops or crackles, not even between tracks, it has powerfull full dynamics, A stereo treat.
Hard to believe That:
On June 11 1966, Frank Sinatra was on top of the record charts with"Strangers in the Night" and this announcement appeared in Melody Maker:
A sensational new 'groups' group' starring Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker is being formed. Top groups will be losing star instrumentalists as a result. Manfred Mann will lose bassist, harmonica player, pianist and singer Jack Bruce; John Mayall will lose brilliant blues guitarist Eric Clapton; and Graham Bond's Organisation will lose incredible drummer Ginger Baker. The group say they hope to start playing at clubs, ballrooms and theatres in a month's time. It is expected they will remain as a trio with Jack as featured vocalist.
Cream was about to be born, and the world of music would never be the same.
And from that collaboration this album was recorded in July - November 1966.
an excellent 38 year old album in stunning condition.
