Count Basie: A Bio-Discography by Chris Sheridan
In the tradition of master bio-discographers Walter C. Allen and Laurie Wright, Chris Sheridan has produced the definitive such work on the extraordinary career of William "Count" Basie. Entries for all of the great bandleader's commercial recordings are, here, expanded and presented accurately. Hundreds of broadcasts are fully annotated for the first time, and many transcriptions are listed for the first time.
In addition to the Basie band's commercial recordings, electrical transcriptions, work in films, broadcasts, and location recordings are treated in chronological order. Appendixes include a band itinerary, song-title index, and alphabetical lists of musicians and arrangers.
1,350 pages, including eight pages of photographs.
Condition: Bright red boards are clean-to-fine. Spine is also fine. Pages are clean (no yellowing) except for two, on which I wrote small notes. Book was rarely used.
The cheapest copy that I found at ABE was selling for $95 plus $15 postage.
Shipping: Ebay requires seller to indicate shipping methods and other particulars, then automatically inserts the cost at the top of the listing. Buyer will pay amount as determined by destination and shipping method he chooses. (USPS Media Mail is cheapest; I will provide prices for US Priority, or for FedEx or UPS ground, if requested.)
Insurance is mandatory.

**For winners outside US**: USPS shipping options are International Priority and International Express. Both methods include insurance but only Express has tracking. If you want a different shipper, I will quote you the cost at end of auction.
Packing: I first cover the books in paper, then stuff wads more around them before packing in a sturdy cardboard box.
