Description
The original pressings of Blue Note's complete Re-Issue and Classics series containing previously unissued/unreleased recordings. These 16 double albums have the BN-LA prefix: 451/Paul Chambers-John Coltrane/High Step, 453/Sam Rivers/Involution, 457/Jackie McLean/Jacknife, 458/Cecil Taylor/In Transition, 459/Andrew Hill/One For All, 460/McCoy Tyner/Cosmos, 472/Chick Corea/Circling In, 473/Art Blakey/Live Messengers, 475/Sonny Rollins/More From the Vanguard, 483/Jackie McLean/Hypnosis, 486/Booker Ervin/Back From the Gig, 496/Freddie Hubbard/Here to Stay, 506/Elvin Jones/The Prime Element, 582/Lee Morgan/The Procrastinator, 882/Chick Corea/Circulus, and 883/Stanley Turrentine/Jubilee Shouts. Except for 451 and 458, all material was original recorded for Blue Note.
The 16 sets are all in excellent condition, with records in new or near-new condition. The covers for 496, 506, and 882 have clipped corners; 460 has two holes punched in the upper right corner; 472 has small writing in ink on the back. All other covers are clean and un-damaged. 453 is still sealed.
These were Blue Notes first series of releases of unissued material. The 11 sets in the Reissue Series are from l975 and l976. The 5 sets in the Classic Series are all from l978.
