Terrific 6 LP box set with over 120 Buddy Holly tracks from the original mono and stereo masters "The Complete Buddy Holly" (MCA 6-80,000). Included is a great 64 page pictorial account of his life.

This 1979 release includes all his recordings with details of session dates and personnel plus many rare interviews, television appearances, and demo recordings. All the hits (solo and with the Crickets) are here as well as the obscure recordings including some legendary session work he did for other artists including: Ivan ("Real Wild Child"), Norman Petty ("Moondreams"), Waylon Jennings ("Jole Blon") and Lou Giordano ("Stay Close To Me").

Each of the six LPs covers one facet of his career with detailed liner notes on the inner sleeves . # 1 is "Lubbock Texas, Western & Bop", # 2 is "Nashville Tennessee" which covers his unsuccessful Decca sessions, #3 & 4 are "Clovis New Mexico" covering the hits period, # 5 is "New York-Planning For The Future" with some tracks recorded in his apartment in New York and # 6 is "The Collectors Buddy Holly" with rare recordings unavailable until the release of this set and session work for other artists.

The glossy LPs have just a few light sleeve scuffs and an occasional superficial scratch that plays with some light occasional surface noise. The souvenir booklet is near mint and the box shows some light wear.
