Description
Released by Columbia in 1967, cat # DB 8140; this is “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy” / “A Quitter Never Wins” by Larry Williams and Johnny Watson.
This is a green/white Columbia demo with the release date of 3 March 1967 in the centre of the labels. Both labels are clean with little evidence of playwear. There are a countable number of spindle marks on the A-side label and only three or four on the B-side label.
Visually, there are a couple tiny marks on either side – the record looks in excellent condition. Playing, both sides play as well as you would hope and justify an excellent grade. The record comes in a green Columbia sleeve.
All of these singles come from the same special source – an original 60’s Top Rank DJ who started in the ballrooms and progressed to radio and record production in the 1970’s. The majority of the collection is mint or unplayed! All of these are one-offs, no duplicates so miss them at your peril! For the full story on the collection, please see our “me” page.
Postage and packing for one record will be £1 UK, £1.80 Europe and £2.50 USA and the Rest of the World. For two records, the costs are still just £1 UK, £2.20 Europe and £3.20 USA and the Rest of the World.
Payment by PayPal is preferred for all customers; though I will accept cheques or postal orders for UK customers. Overseas customers must pay by Paypal unless agreed otherwise prior to auction end.
I will combine multiple auction wins to reduce postage costs, so please remember to look at my other soul singles. Remember to bookmark us as your favourite seller – hundreds of soul singles still to come.
