About the records:
Within this collection we have music from many different artist, conductors, groups & orchestras across record labels such as EMI, Argo, Decca & HMV! We have all types of vinyl systems here from Microgroove to Decca-Flexible. They are all unique and have plenty of running time on each side and are a mixture of Stereo & Mono.
Condition: used
The vinyl themselves range from ok to very good condition, they are playable, unwarped and have been tested. However, please be aware that they are used items and been stored for several years. They are collectable but also very old, as you can imagine this goes with the territory. MOST of the sleeves show shelfwear and can be a little faded. You can see from the photos the types damage incurred... small tears in the covers, inners/outers repaired with tape, labels stuck on either the front or back and some in a non original sleeves (the vinyl they hold is largely unaffected).
In summary, some old/damaged covers but Moslty ok & vinyl in ok/good condition.
Origin & reason's for sale:
These records were very kindly donated to us by a hospital radio station at it's time of closure. In regards to condition, this means some of the records have an RLI reference number sticker on them somewhere (an example of this is displayed in the 2nd photograph on the 'tone of poems' album). Although aged by storage the records were kept well and won't have been played nearly as much as a "domestic" second hand vinyl i.e. less needle wear. The collection originally spanned 4000 units, 1800 7" singles, 1700 12" lp's, 200 tapes & 300 odd Cd's. I'm a big music fan, but we have to sell for space in the warehouse. I've listed plenty so far on eBay, one box at a time, so check the feedback! I'm working my way through the collection (currently about halfway) so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested, we'll be listing plenty more boxes! They might not be in mint condition but considering they still play well and sound bright, makes them perfect "price-wise" for Beat-makers and people sampling. There are days worth of samples and extracts here just waiting to be made into something brilliant.
With MPC's, samplers and software more available than ever more and more people are making beats & music from records like this. Help keep vinyl alive!
