label; Melodisc/FAB records number on label; BBLP 822 year; 1969 condition; Very Good Brief description;Cecil Bustamente Campbell (Prince Buster) was the first ska act to be very successful in England. His 1964 concert at Brixton Town Hall, a sell out, led to an appearance on Ready Steady Go. His 'Al Capone' & 30 pieces of silver were huge favourites in mod clubs. His output was prolific. This LP 'The Outlaw' includes numbers from 1961-1969 is one of his most valuable LPs. It is possibly the first reggae concept albums, focussed on the American cowboy & indian myth. In my view not all the songs work, but Cincinnati Kid, Al Capone, Gun the Man Down & It's Burke's Law & his re-working of Phoenix City work well. The album shows why Prince Buster was much sampled & copied.
