Description
Blue Note 1549. The labels have the address of 47 West 63rd St on both sides and also on the bottom of the back cover. The record has “ear” and “RVG” inscribed in the dead wax, deep groove. The group is co-head with John Gilmore and also includes Horace Silver, Curly Russell, and Art Blakey on 6 tracks. Rare edition. Cover: VG to VG+. There is scotch tape along 3 edges. It is neatly applied and appears more for protection then mending. Back cover has the call letters of a radio station stamped lightly; some names of musicians and times next to the tune list. Also a date is written. A small tear occurs at the edge of the notes about 1” x ½” and does not interfere with the notes. Light aging on back cover. Some corner wear. Record: Mint. Visually shows no wear. No surface noise. Plays like new. Hard to find a copy of this original record in better condition. Heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
