CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE S/T LP 12INCH VINYL CAUFIELD RECORDS; CR-024; OUT OF PRINT!! VINYL: VG++ (almost NM, but I've played this a few times) "This album truly captures the intriguing dynamic that attracted so many listeners in the late 90's. Christie Front Drive have always made music for themselves and this album is proof that with a little experimentation, true beauty is acheived. Most fans have agreed that the "interludes" between the albums core tracks tend to be a little long and self-serving, but they serve as gateways into the records sonic bliss. "Saturday" the bands opening track hooks you in with it's melodic arrangement and keeps moving towards the records more driving tracks like "Radio" and "About Two Days". This was the final album from this band not including Anthology which is a collection of rare tracks and b-sides not already available. Fans of Mineral, Braid, and Joan of Arc will truly enjoy this record and recognize it's influence still being felt today. Fans of Jimmy Eat World should familiarize themselves with this album due to it's heavy influence on J.E.W.'s second album "Clarity". Christie Front Drive deserves alot of respect for their continued influence on today's overblown "emo" scene. " Despite their short tenure, Christie Front Drive became a major influence on emo music in the 90's. Richter resurfaced in the bands Antarctica, The 101, and Golden City, and both Marschall and Begin went on to form The Blue Ontario. Marschall was also credited as an engineer on the The Apples in Stereo's album, The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone. Jason Begin is currently performing under the name This Body as well as the Portland based band Pireate Radio Deluxe and the random appearance with Modernstate.
