Description

Popular in the early 1950's, "The Children's Record Guild" was like the "Book of the Month Club" only for Children's Records. Parents or Grandparents could purchase a subscription and then every month their child would receive a record in the mail.  Each record/set would have a story or theme that the songs revolved around (fairy tales, American history, educational). The records covered a wide variety of musical styles and instrumentation. The records were meant to entertain and educate at the same time. Most consisted of a single record with a fun musical theme. Some were classic Children's Stories set to music such as Cinderella. Occasionally a two record set such as The Emperors New Clothes, Sleeping Beauty or Midsummer Nights Dream would arrive. The records were delivered in a colorful sleeve. And this Lucy Sprague Mitchell's "Peter, Please, It's Pancakes" 45 is a humorous story about getting dressed. Told and sung by David Pfeffer, Denise Alexander, Lee and Sally Sweetland. Please see my five pictures for all the pertinent information, Thank You!

Original Sleeve: VG+ (Still clean and sturdy with no writing or seam splits, has some ringwear and about 1/2" of sticker residue upper right, please use your ZOOM feature to see it better, Thank You)

Vinyl: Near Mint (I grade conservatively and hardly ever grade an open 45 Near Mint, but this disc is clean!)
