We also offer 4 mill plastic LP sleeves and 20lb paper sleeves in lots of  25 and 50 pieces (see the last two pictures in this item) to protect your valuable records.

Grading Information

M = Mint

Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed

NM = Near Mint

The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. Of course, the same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like. Basically, an LP in near mint (NM) condition looks as if you just purchased it from a record store.

Very Good Plus

VG+ = Very Good Plus

A Very Good Plus (VG+) record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound (DNAP) are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. In general, if not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus (VG+) record highly acceptable.

VG = Very Good

Many of the defects found in a VG+ (Very Good Plus) record will be more pronounced in a VG (Very Good) disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers.

G = Good

Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good (G) condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white). A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

All records are mechanically washed and vacuumed to insure great sound quality.

We are not perfect and mistakes happen occasionally. If you get what you feel is a mis-graded record, please email us and let us know so the issue can be resolved. We will always work to resole any legitimate issues in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.

Packaging Information

Each disc is shipped in a brand new paper sleeve. The cover is placed in a brand new plastic protective sleeve (excluding box sets) to insure that it arrives safely along with the disc outside of the cover to eliminate seam splits during shipping. Sealed LP's are always shipped intact and unopened.

All LP's are shipped in a sturdy new mailer designed specifically for shipping records with one heavy cardboard insert to help prevent bending. Additional padding may be added at $.30 per pad. Please let us know if you require additional padding. This does not mean that they are bullet proof and at times the postal service can and will break things. When this happens you need to contact your local post office.

 Photographic Information All item photos shown in this offering are actual original untouched photos of the item(s) unless otherwise noted. Chesney Henry "Chet" Baker, Jr. (December 23, 1929 – May 13, 1988) was an American jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist and singer. Though his music earned him a large following (particularly albums featuring his vocals, such as Chet Baker Sings), Baker's popularity was due in part to his "matinee idol-beauty" and "well-publicized drug habit."[3] He died in 1988 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.[4]

Baker was born and raised in a musical household in Yale, Oklahoma; his father was a professional guitar player. Baker began his musical career singing in a church choir. His father introduced him to brass instruments with a trombone, which was replaced with a trumpet when the trombone proved too large.

Baker received some musical education at Glendale Junior High School, but left school at age 16 in 1946 to join the United States Army. He was posted to Berlin where he joined the 298th Army band. Leaving the army in 1948, he studied theory and harmony at El Camino College in Los Angeles. He dropped out in his second year, however, re-enlisting in the army in 1950. Baker became a member of the Sixth Army Band at the Presidio in San Francisco, but was soon spending time in San Francisco jazz clubs such as Bop City and the Black Hawk. Baker once again obtained a discharge from the army to pursue a career as a professional musician.
