Description
Charlie Rouse, long-time tenor sax player with Thelonious Monk, in his first appearance as a leader in YEAH! - Epic Mono LP LA 16012 (1961) - Original Release/Deep Groove. Also on the date is Billy Gardner on piano (his debut on vinyl and a nice one it is too), Peck Morrison on bass and Dave Bailey on drums. This LP is also a Promo release, as the stamp on the back cover and the adhesive tag on the label attest.
This record has been cleaned and play graded. The record surfaces are rated as VG+, with clean, quiet surfaces. The record cover is in VG condition - the front cover is unmarked except for the adhesive tag in the upper left corner and moderate ring wear. The back cover is also unmarked except for the same tag in the upper right corner and some staining on the lower spine and seam (see photos). The seams and spine are fragile. - the lower seam is intact, with no tears or splits; the upper seam has a 2-inch split at the opening; and the spine is tattered (see photos). The label on Side 1 is clean and unmarked, but the label on Side 2 has an adhesive Promo tag (see photos). Both labels have slight spindle wear.
