Description
This is an original pressing of the ultra-rare album Charlie Parker “For Collector’s Only!!!” ALTERNATE MASTERS VOL. 1" LP. Remastered by Rudy Van Gelder, with the "ear" in deadwax. Mono, Original yellow and orange Dial Records label, Deep Groove pressing. 1954.
This seems to be an unusual version of the album, in that it has the same track listing as “Thirteen Masters Previously Unreleased”, but it has the different cover art. Even odder, it has no information on the back cover - it just plain cardboard, though clearly it's the original backside (the cover art continues on the back panel.) Could this have been a promo? Beats me - It sounds great!
Sound: I play graded all tracks, and the album is very crisp sounding. There is persistent light crackle on the first 2 tracks of side A. Side B has persistent light crackle throughout.
Cover: The cover front is in VG+ condition, pretty nice with moderate shelf wear. The back is in decent shape, but has browned with age, and has mildew spots. As noted, the rear is blank, and was manufactured this way. The top and back seam are fully split (see photos). I have put the cover and disc in a clear plastic protective sleeve.

Please see my other original jazz album listings from the mid-to-late 1950's. These albums are part of a personal collection and have had only a single owner. The albums were well cared for, but have been stored in a garage for over 25 years. As a result, the covers are not in great shape, but the LP's are -- and in the end, that's what matters. I have carefully cleaned the albums using LAST Power Cleaner for Records.
