it seems almost rude to call Celtic Frost one of the great extreme metal bands, because they were so much more than that. It is better to call them one of the best extreme and experimental bands of the 1980s. The band always refused to do what was expected or demanded, they constantly changed the musical direction, brought in new influences again and again and made people speculate where they would dare next. The catalog of their albums is impressive and unsurpassed. Each of them is not only unique, but a remarkable part of music history. Despite - or perhaps precisely because of - the constant turbulence on so many fronts, Celtic Frost reached an artistic level that others did not even dare to dream of. They climbed up because they were never afraid to fall. For this reason, the band is now rightly regarded as an icon and an iconoclast.
