Description
This is Blue Note Records BLP 4237, Cecil Taylor Unit Structures, a blue and white, microgroove, New York USA label original mono Promo issue of this iconic record with Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax. The record is visually in near mint condition showing almost no signs of wear (*please read the further explanation at the end of the listing). The cover has a promo stamp on the front and a price in marker on the back but is otherwise excellent and intact. The labels are excellent as well. The record was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 in mono mode and cleaned on a VPI 17. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple wins. Thanks for looking. * The record has a pressing bump visible on side 1. When played on my TT with tracking at 1.75 gr. the needle moves over the area without any noise or disturbance. However, when I sold this record the first time, to a trusted repeat customer, it was returned because he was able to here a repeated whoosh. I replayed it upon receipt and again it played perfectly. Perhaps the Linn LP12 is more forgiving than most, perhaps my customer had a lighter tracking than I. I am offering it again because I believe my ears and think someone with a good rig and an arm at approximately my tracking weight will get the same results as I did. It's probably a good idea for the bidder to be in the US just in case there needs to be a return again.
