Description

An original 1st issue of Tillerman on the Pink-Rim Island label from winter 1970. Matri 3U/4U. Etching 'Sterling'. Stampers 1-AR/2GGD. Please note that at 1st release [autumn 1970] Island were right in the middle of a label re-design. Consequently a few copies of Tillerman [the very 1st presses] can be found with a solid pink label - but would only have been available in the 1st week of release. Immediately after that came the pink-rim palm tree re-design [this example] which would have been available during the winter whilst the album charted - within a couple of months of 1st release. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover. These 1st issue covers are made of thicker card, heavy laminated, and the interior is texture with red lettering down in the bottom-right mentioning the printer 'E J Day'. Also included is the original blue inner sleeve too. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, a pristine copy and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of superficial marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. An absolute perfect performer and you really need this with CAT - nothing else will do! Perfectly resolved audio no matter whether that's in the complex sections or the very low-key moments. Interference is pretty much totally absent. I'll do the usual catch-all..you may detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments... but this is about as it good as it gets! FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) A lovely looking cover no doubt aided by the heavy-card construction. A lovely clean front without creasing or wear. The rear looks great too - pretty much perfect! The interior is lovely looking - no signs of wear or ageing..it's lush! Edge wear is practically non-existent and the openings still sharp. The spine is 100% intact and the cover retains excellent rigidity. FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Ex+) Crisp..pretty much perfect. No splits marks or staining. Lush!
