Carpenters ‎– Ticket To Ride (Soft Rock Pop Ballad LP) (1969, 1970)
Very good British 1st issue of the Carpenters' debut 1969 album 'Ticket To Ride'.
Carpenter's debut recording, previously released in 1969 as "Offering". It was re-designed, re-titled and released in 1970 as "Ticket To Ride".
Karen Carpenter played electric bass on two songs according to the back cover, but the songs are not specified.
Laminated sleeve both sides. Though black in appearance, the vinyl is translucent purple when held up to a bright light.
Condition
VINYL: VG-EX. Side 1 is superbly clean on visual inspection. Side 2 has a few small hairlines and some fogging though track 1 but nothing major. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is very good. Some very light surface noise throughout, only really noticeable during quieter sequences and between cues. Mild static at run-ins. Overall a decent listen to this debut album.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: VG. Colours are clear and unfaded. Superb laminated front and back. Bubble of delamination along spine on front. Edges, corners and spine in great shape, though bottom right corner is buckled. A few light creases in from sides but nothing major. Reverse side has large crease in top right corner and discolouration in bottom left area. Disc outline and the odd other crease and mark but nothing major overall, so very good.
INNER SLEEVE: VG-EX. White paper sleeve with rounded corners. Intact. Minor creasing/folding.
