Description

HERE IT IS!! The elusive and rare British Stereo pressing and cover of the sought after Michael Rabin "The Magic Bow"  SP 8510 CAPITOL, PRESSED BY EMI MIDDLESEX UK, THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL ORCHESTRA CONDUCTED BY FELIX SLATKIN

Last week one was up for auction in the UK in Mint condition, starting bid over $500AUD, so see how you go (IT DIDN'T SELL THOUGH.... THE OTHER TWO THAT SOLD WERE AMERICAN PRESSINGS, NOT THIS RARER UK PRESSING)

Check out my other items MFSL,  Audiophile and Classical

Stock Number        SP 8510

WAX NUMBERS

SIDE 1 SP 8510 - D6

SIDE 2 SP 8510 - D7

Condition (See Photo's)

COVER-   VERY GOOD ++ . Only small damage,  TWO CORNER DENTS , TOP LEFT AND BOTTOM RIGHT, NO RING WEAR FRONT OR BACK LAMINATED FRONT IN UNDAMAGED CONDITION,(AMERICAN PRESSINGS NOT LAMINATED)

THE TOP EDGE DOESN'T HAVE A SEAM SPLIT, BUT MORE OF A 2.5CM (1")LONG BULGE THAT IN TIME MIGHT BECOME A SEAM SPLIT

ALL CLOSED EDGES CLEAN AND NO SHELF WEAR ON BOTTOM AT ALL. OPENING EDGE ON UNLAMINATED PIECE HAS GAINED A LITTLE BIT OF A BROWN TINGE

REVERSE SIDE IS A BIT YELLOW FROM OXIDISATION WITH AIR CONTACT, BUT IS OTHERWISE CLEAN, ALL GLUED OVER EDGES INTACT

LP is  MINT  (MINUS). (SEE PHOTO'S WHICH ARE SO CLEAR EVERY SPECK OF DUST IS JUST THAT , A SPECK OF DUST, NOT A SCUFF OR SCRATCH!!) THE SCUFFS THAT ARE DESCRIBED BELOW WERE NOT VISIBLE TO THE CAMERA)

Record has been cleaned using a Knosti Record Bath followed by a treatment of 'Last' Power Cleaner, followed by 'Last' Record Preserver (said to protect against wear damage for upto 200 plays) The first few plays after that, may leave some residual pressing compounds or any previously invisible dust/grime on your stylus, as "Last" is very good at loosening and removing things you didn't even know were there, Most audiophiles such as yourself are probably already using the treatment, but at least I've saved you the effort and the expense.

There are ONLY A COUPLE OF LIGHT PAPER SCUFFS, NON SOUNDING, YOU'LL NEED GOOD VISION  TO KNOW THEY ARE THERE normally associated with removal from dust jackets, and there is only a couple of  very small spindle marks on both sides. It may indicate from the rest of the usual wear indicators that this album has been played very few times. (See supersize photo's) .  Record plays with very little popping or ticking,  It plays BEAUTIFULLY, its just the visual effect of the light scuffs that give it the MINT minus rating.

DUST JACKET  ORIGINAL PLASTIC LINED SUPPLIED ALMOST UNMARKED OR BENT, BUT DUE TO THE VALUE OF THIS RECORD, MORE MODERN ANTI STAT AUDIOPHILE COVER AS SUPPLIED BY MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LAB (mfsl) ON THEIR HALF SPEED MASTERED ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING SERIES IS NOW PROTECTING YOUR NEWLY CLEANED RECORD.

This listing in Australian dollars because I don't live in US or UK, and if you don't, WHAT A WASTE OF DOUBLE CONVERSIONS THAT WOULD BE!!! Also as the exchange rate is more like R.S. not U.S against our vibrant economy in sunny Australia

The keen starting price offers a great opportunity to own this great recording at a reasonable starting price.
