Description

This 3 lp set, SDAN 143/5 is the stereo deluxe edition issued on the HMV Angel label in 1964.   It represents the Maria Callas world premiere performance as Carmen and is contained in a special presentation box and includes 3 booklets,   These are an English translation of the original novella of the Carmen story by Prosper Merimee, the libretto in English and French, and a photographic record of the recording sessions with an account of Maria Callas as Carmen.

The condition of the set is about near mint overall and I have examined it thoroughly in order to be as accurate and fair as possible.   The vinyl is clean and bright, with very little sign of use but close inspection shows there to be about a 1 cm mark on side 2 (which produces one barely audible click) and a tiny blemish on side 4 (which has no effect on sound).   The handsome box has just a few small indentations on its padded lid but otherwise is clean and undamaged.   The three booklets are mint.   Each of the three decorative inner sleeves have two creases (about paper-clip size) to the bottom edge and on one sleeve a crease is torn, but otherwise they are excellent.
