Jóia is a 1975 studio album by Caetano Veloso. The album was released simultaneously with 'Qualquer Coisa'. The original cover art, picturing Veloso, his wife and his son naked, was censored by the ruling Brazilian military dictatorship and substituted by one with only doves on it.
The Album balances itself between previous experimentalism and the touching sensibility of the Bahia music. The Beatles' influence is clear not only on the cover (in the comparison of the art of Two Virgins (1968), John Lennon and Yoko Ono's album), but on the revamped version of "Help", assuming a more melancholic blues guise and played only on guitar. Finally, samba invades Jóia's precious moment through the music version of “Escapulário”, a poem by Oswald de Andrade.
This is a copy for collectors of Brazilian music (MPB), especially from the 70s.
