CYRIL DAVIES  :  "THE LEGENDARY CYRIL DAVIES"  with ALEXIS KORNER'S BREAKDOWN GROUP and The Roundhouse Jug Four.

Folklore F-LEUT/9.  Original 1970 UK issue.   Limited pressing.

Condition :  Record is virtually M- .   Sleeve is Ex+ with some minor wear & a  slight discoloration on the bottom seam where perhaps tape was removed.   None of this detracts from the overall appearance.

Tracks:  Leaving blues / Roundhouse Stomp / Rotten Break / KC Moan / Skip to my Lou / It's the same old thing / Alberta / Hesitation blues / Ella Speed / Good Morning / Boll Weevil / Short Legs shuffle.

Personel includes:  Cyril Davies, Alexis Korner, Jeff Bradford.  Recorded  1957 & 1961.       

This album was released after Cyril's death by Doug Dobell, owner of the jazz/blues record store on London's Charing Cross Road.   It was a limited pressing, as were all of the records issued by Doug , mainly available via his shop and a few other specialist outlets.  Apart from Cyril's  vocals & harmonica work, he also plays guitar on some tracks.   Alexis Korner also features on vocals & guitar.  This is a rare & important record for anybody seriously interested in the British blues scene.   Interesting sleevenotes by Long John Baldry too.

A rare opportunity to obtain this extremely scarce album.
