Description
Cybotron - Cybotron LP, Clear Light of Jupiter CLOJ782. Very Rare original Australian issued version of this krautrock/ prog/ synth album released in 1976.
Features five tracks, running approx 34 minutes, and is pressed on thick wax - like all the cloj releases.
Original first press of the debut by the duo of Steve Maxwell Von Braund (ARP 2600 & Korg 700 synthesizers, electronic percussion, alto saxophone) and Geoff Green (organ, string synthesiser, Korg 700 & ARP 2600 synthesizer) with help from Gil Matthews (recording engineer, drums on track 3). Being a German expat, Braund had been exposed to much of the Krautrock and early electronic rock scene, including the likes of KLAUS SCHLUZE, CAN, TANGERINE DREAM, ASH RA TEMPLE, AMON DÜÜL II and the UK's HAWKWIND and PINK FLOYD.
They were the first Australian example of pure electronic rock at a time when that country's music scene was mainly dominated by pub rock. Rich layers of synths, treated sax and electro-percussion dominate their marvelously inventive aural soundscapes. Their "mind-expanding brain food" is surprisingly punchy, propulsive, energetic and epic.
