Up for auction is an original early pressing of Crosby Stills Nash & Young Deja Vu LP, US Atlantic Records, SD 7200. This LP is unusual in that the front cover is minus it’s embossed gold ink band info. and title. A factory mispressed cover which made it to circulation. A very rare item which was missed by a large major music companies quality control system and procedures.

Visually outer cover is in very nice and decent looking condition. 1st pressing dark colored textured gatefold cover with front picture slick. No other printing on front or back cover. A light dent is noticed in bottom right corner. Nice spine and seams. Inside gatefold there are initials written on Dallas Taylor’s picture (very small). Mispressed cover grades VG+ to VG++. 

The vinyl LP is not really in the nicest condition. Has considerable amounts of scratches and scuffs under a bright light. Major ring center wear. Still plays decently. Loud, clear and crisp with some light tics. Original record with the three color  Atlantic “1841 Broadway” address, is fairly cheap to obtain if you care to update the vinyl, but this is the original record which came with this cover. Includes factory inner sleeve, which like the LP, has some age wear, creases and small rips near opening.

For the past several years I would now and again try to find information on the web regarding this mispressed cover. As of yet no information exists regarding this missed mispressed cover. Most likely only a few of these were ever made and were then quickly rejected. This copy making it’s way to the general public.
