Description
This is an ultra-rare LP.
It's on the UK Vertigo swirl label and is entitled 'Asylum' by Cressida.The year of release was 1971. The music is absolutely superb with prog, psych and jazz influences throughout as well as some excellent orchestral fills. There are some brilliant tracks, especially, in my view, 'Munich'.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is 6360 025. It is a very rare record and this one is in absolutely superb condition with only one or two very minor blemishes.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is a gatefold type and It shows minor wear. There is a small sticker tear on the front cover which measures 20mm x 12mm. Otherwise the front and back covers are in great condition. The edges show some very minor wear and the spine is in fine condition. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. In view of this I've graded the sleeve as Ex-.
INNER BAG - This is the usual Vertigo expanded swirl type with a polythene liner. It states at the bottom left hand corner of one side -'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE... ETC - British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - MADE IN ENGLAND - 1070 41'. It is slightly creased and I've graded it Ex- as well.
RECORD - The record is stunning. It looks really good, giving a shiny appearance It's been well played but there is virtually no surface noise and just one or two very minor pops and clicks. It plays beautifully on both sides..There are absolutely no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are the standard Vertigo swirl type - side one - large swirl logo - side two - small swirl logo with track details and credits (produced by Ossie Byrne - arranged by Cressida - orchestra and musical director : Graeme Hall). Beneath the catalogue number on the left side of the label is a smaller number (6360 025 2). The labels are in fine condition with very few spindle marks visible. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 6360025 1Y//1V420 11 2 - side two - 6360025 2Y//1V420 11 3 . I've graded the record as Ex+ and this is very conservative.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. This record hardly ever turns up in such a fine condition.
