Extremely rare original pressing on a limited edition of 1000 copies. Conrad Schnitzler has been an institution in the German electronic / experimental music scene for thirty years. He studied with Joseph Beuys in the mid 1960’s, and in the late sixties joined the then fledgling German rock band Tangerine Dream. He added a bizarre, conceptual approach to Tangerine Dream that catapulted the band to legendary status, documented on the bands first album “Electronic Meditation”. Schitzler left after that first album, forming with his friends Moebius and Roedelius the band Kluster. Kluster recorded and released three albums before Schnitzler again left, this time to pursue his own work under his own name. Kluster continued with just Roedelius and Moebius under the name Cluster. Since the demise of Kluster, Schnitzler has released dozens of albums, cassettes and CDs, both on his own and on various labels around the world...this one is highly recommended!!
Schnitzler was active in a period where flourished the krautrock-progressive-psych movement in Germany with bands like Harmonia, Embryo, Gila and Curly Curve, Spermull, Diabolus, Spirogyra, Guru Guru and gash, Rufus and of course Annexus Quam and limbus 3 & 4 or the great Anima. Other groups quite close in that period were the progressive/psych Thirsty Moon, Os Mundi, Cornucopia, Neu! and Brainticket, Amon Duul, Wolgang Dauner and one should also include Kluster, Electric Sandwich and the more experimental Satin Whale, Zweistein, Grobschnitt and of course Yatha Sidhra or kosmische musik. Not very far from the musical world of artists like Stockhausen, Pierre Henry, Iannis Xenakis, Asmus Tietchens, Oskar Sala, Henri Pousseur, Bernard Parmegiani and of course Jean-Michel Jarre, Paul Beaver, Bernie Krause, Aphex Twin and Jean-Jacques Perrey, Gershon Kingsley, Hrvatski and Dick Hyman, Raymond Scott, Bruce Haack and instruments like Arp or Theremin.
Vinyl and cover lie in mint- condition(near new!), impossible to find a better copy today!!!
