Description
A MINT OR VERY VERY NEAR MINT COPY OF THIS ULTRA RARE EARLY 78 FROM THE FAMOUS LONGINISA STUDIOS IN THE CONGO
REALLY HAPPY AFRICAN SOUNDS!!!
THIS ONE IS NOT ON THE LONGINISA LABEL BUT ON THE ULTRA RARE RED HMV "LON" SERIES!!
I can't really tell you very much about this record as it really is Soooooo rare, but it features some really great Guitar work - presumably by "Kinkadi" with great vocal chorus work and accompaniment by the bana loningisa Rumba (a moving band of session players - "the rumba children of loningisa")
Loningisa was owned by Lingala speaking Greek owner Basile Papadimitriou who along with Belgium Sound Engineer Carlos Monsieur were responsible for capturing many marvelous sounds of Africa on their one room, one microphone, one track, tape recorder "studio" - Its amazing they sound so very very good even today!!
This is a wonderful record, and must rank among the greatest treasures of all African issues.
