Vertigo V01 847 900 VTY, 1969 Rare very first UK pressing

This is the mega-rare VERY FIRST pressing of this seminal progressive album, and the very first Vertigo release, in superb condition. This was the first of 87 pressings; to find the original pressing with vinyl and both outer and original inner spiral sleeve in excellent condition is extremely unusual; a beautiful album and a piece of rock history.

Matrix numbers: 886775 1Y; 886775 2Y

Vinyl: Both sides are in EX condition overall and the heavy original vinyl with beautiful black glossy lustre. There are some minor scuffs and several hairlines can be seen on both sides; however, there are no skips or hard scratches and playability and sound quality is absolutely superb throughout.

Sleeve: The original Marcus Keef-designed gatefold un-laminated outer sleeve is in good condition with some moderate wear to edges, spine and corners. The inner gatefold has the “A Philips Product” printing which indicates it is the VERY FIRST pressing. There is some moderate rubbing and a very small area to the cover top right were a price label may have once been (see photo). Overall the condition is very good with very flat looking appearance.

The original Vertigo spiral inner sleeve is (very unusually) present and in good condition; poly-lined sleeve with ‘Plastic bags can be dangerous’ text etc.

Labels: Both labels are in stunning condition with no visible wear or writing and only minimal spindle marks. The B-side label has the “A Philips Product” printing which indicates it is the VERY FIRST pressing.

This is a truly fantastic opportunity to acquire this very rare album and a piece of sixties (and Vertigo) rock history in superb condition. Good luck bidding!
