COLOSSEUM " VALENTYNE SUITE " VERY RARE ALBUM
Released in 1969 the first Album on the "VERTIGO" LABEL V01 847 900 VTY
Condition:- EXCELLENT +
I bought this Album in 1969 the week it was released. It was a special order from my
local record shop so it was never put out on display for the public to handle. It was
played on a high quality record deck for that era (Thorens 125 turntable SME arm with
Shure V15 cartridge.) The record was always cleaned with a high quality record cleaner
and stored in a plastic outer sleeve for protection. I am not a record dealer, I am just
selling off my own private Album collection.

THE VALENTYNE SUITE

THE COVER
The COVER is in an EXCELLENT condition. The GATEFOLD is VERY CLEAN in a
LUSTRE finish. The only minor defect on the FRONT COVER is a scuff mark, half
way along the bottom edge, which can be seen in my photographs. The BACK COVER
is BEAUTIFUL, there are no marks whatsoever. Inside the GATEFOLD it is VERY
CLEAN with no marks only a little fraying on the bottom edge of the sleeve opening.
All the CORNERS are FIRM and TRUE, with only one slight scuff mark to the back
cover in the left hand corner. The SPINE is EXCELLENT, it is SHARP with CRISP
edges, no wear whatsoever. Overall there aren't any creases and I would class this
as a Beautiful example of this collectible Album.
THE VINYL
The ALBUM is in EXCELLENT + condition, it comes complete with the ORIGINAL
SPIRAL inner sleeve which is in a BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN condition, hardly any wear.
The Album is VERY CLEAN in a HIGH GLOSS MIRROR finish. There are no hair lines,
no scratches or finger marks. The LABELS are BEAUTIFUL, they almost look new except
for an almost invisible spindle mark on side 2. See if you can detect it in my close up photo!
The SOUND QUALITY is VERY DETAILED and CRISP and it plays beautifully throughout.
This is the first time I've played this Album since 1971, I TEST PLAYED it on my REGA
PLANAR 3 turntable with ORTOFON cartridge and very impressed listening to JOHN
HISEMAN again, as I am a drummer myself. The AUDIO was PUNCHY. There are only
a few light pops on side1. track 4. in the quiet passage. Other than that this is a GREAT
1st PRESSING, 39 years old !
