IMPRESSIVE PERIOD progressive jazz rock from the giants of that scene. The riffs are super heavy, very tight and the playing is beyond impressive - totally mindblowing actually. Contains wonderfully arranged long tracks that take you on a journey to the sort of places that you never quite come back from.

This was Colosseum's debut album and the very first release on the newly inaugerated Vertigo progressive rock label. The point is, the record company set a standard with this act that was tough to top yet brilliantly placed to capitalise on the burgeoning interest in jazz rock.

Clearly the band meant business as all the tracks harness a degree of intensity but tracks like 'The Kettle' (arguably their best ever composition) 'Butty's Blues' amd side two's colossal 'The Valentyne Suite' itself. In all cases the riffs and themes kick hard and take no prisoners.

One of the greatest prog rock albums of all time. Don't miss out.

Cover: Only minor signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated gatefold cover designed by the ubiquitos Keef. Sharp corners (a couple slightly rubbed), one micro ding, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff and straight. Small price sticker residue top right - very minor. Displays just a hint of storage wear. Grades as Ex+

This is a vinyl album NOT a CD. No time wasters, nit pickers or deadbeats- retribution will be swift and mercyless. Bidders with very low feedback new to ebay are often deadbeats so please don't be surprised if I run a check on you in advance. All gradings are visual but may have been spot tested to double check. I very rarely list records that are in any way scratched- they go in the trash- and I will only list a scratched record if scarcity dictates otherwise but with full disclosure. Often vinyl display 'scuffs' which are surface marks (mostly caused by sliding in and out of the inner sleeve or careless handling) but NOT scratches and they do not have any effect on playback. If the vinyl has a scuff I will try and mention it. Even my Vg+ records are way better than most gradings on ebay- check my feedback for vindication.Gradings are cover/vinyl.
