Original and rare Global vinyl Psychedelia compilation with thick card insert with detailed liner notes and pics.

Limited and hand Numbered 13. The Euro psychedelic pop pieces on this compilation are relaxing and pleasant. It's true that a few of these tracks flirt dangerously with progressive music, but do not let this fact scare you. Half of the selection comes from the Benelux. The most famous act is the Motions with two cool psych/freak-beat extracts from their third LP, Impressions Of Wonderful: "Green Chewing Gum Machine" is (not-surprisingly) bubblegumish while "Make it Legal" is about what you think it is about. Also well-known are the Shakespeares (apparently they originated from Rhodesia before moving to Belgium) with the great heavy "Burning My Fingers" (they recorded a so-so LP, but those not familiar with the band should check their "How Does She Look" and "The Shake Spear"). You may have also heard of  The Klan and the Towe too; the first does a nice orchestrated pop à la Bee Gees, while the latter's number is a neat progressive psych pop ballad (it's the B-side of "Slow Motion Mind"). Amsterdam's "Indian Pipe" and OPMC's "The Head" are both more folky; "Indian" would've been at home on SF Sorrow, while "Head" is more Donovan-like. Quite far from the Benelux is Lebanon, home of the Cedars, but they'd move to the UK when "Hide If You Want To Hide", a great oriental psych pop song, was issued. France, Norway and Switzerland are also featured, with both famous (les Sauterelles' cool pop sike "Montgolfier"; flying was a major subject in those days) and obscure (Calcium's "Elle regarde et elle rit" with its nice "Eight Miles High" guitar - not as good as Chorus Reverendus though) groups. It's not clear which part of the EEC Berry Window came from, but his "I Wait For You", a sitar flavoured psych ballad, is another highlight of this compilation. One last good point: this music deserves a pristine sound and gets it.
