Description

British 1st release of the album ‘Colditz Breakpoint’ (1973), a compilation mix of music and non-music sounds to evoke the Colditz story. It features songs and themes from the Second World War as well as field recordings and sound effects engineered especially for this album.

Sleeve notes read: "This record has been created for your imagination. It is a song without words, film without a screen, without any libretto. There is no musical score and no script; no straightjacket to dictate the terms of your experience. It will be something new, I think, for you; a very personal experience which you will live, in your imagination, as a prisoner with me in Colditz. – P.R. Reid

P.R. Reid, Various ?– Colditz Breakpoint (1973)
A mix of music and non-music sounds to evoke the Colditz story.

Condition (refer also to notes at bottom):
Vinyl – VG-EX. Superbly clean surface. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great throughout. Some light static/crackling in places. This is in part due to the original quality of the archive recordings and audio footage. A unique listening experience!
Outer sleeve (Cover) – VG. Colours are unfaded and clean. Light vein-like creasing in from top edges and spine. Disc outline visible around most of front. Some light scuffing and nicks along aperture edge. Edges very lightly scuffed and corners show mild rubbing and denting. Reverse is clean and unmarked. Text is entirely readable. Some damage along aperture edge and light creasing in from edges. Small dark scuffs in centre of bottom edge. Entirely intact.
Inner sleeve – VG. Original. Yellowed white paper; creasing and folding but intact.

ITEM CONDITION - items are graded according to Record Collector definitions - see below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
