Description
Things have been going a little slow of late both via my auction listings as well as those listed in my shop
and so in order to regenerate some of your valued custom and interest Vinyl-Answer Records would lke to present to you this Mega Rare'Cock Sparrer' single
Cock Sparrer,in my opinion are amongst the finest examples of the movement that came to be known,thanks to Ex 'Sounds' reporter Gary Bushell as Oi!
Now Oi! without getting to in depth on the subject is 'Punk' but with even more of a 'working class' bias.
Where as Punk was generally more 'political',Oi! was more about 'Football,drinking,fighting & Pubs and a real celebration of that fact. Hence the title of another great exponant of Oi! Peter and the test tube babies album,'Pissed And Proud' and other such Oi! classics as the Cockney Rejects track 'War On The Terraces' and of course the anthemic track Oi!,Oi!,Oi!.Come Saturday afternoon, both Cock Sparrer and the Cockney Rejects could be seen more often than not on the terraces of Upton Park supporting their beloved West Ham United
Cock Sparrer were an Oi! band years ahead of their time. The single Runnin Riot,which is up for grabs,is a great Oi! record and yet it was released right at the start of the Punk revolution in 1977. Cock Sparrer like the Ramones who were themselves Punks years ahead of their time,never quite achieved the credit or the glory that later bands playing the stuff they had been playing all those years. They were the 'John The Baptists' of this world. Preparing the path for others to follow.
Cock Sparrer again like the Ramones are the bands that 'paved' the way and they themselves never quite got the full credit they so richly deserve.

Catalogue Number FR 13710 and released on the Decca Label in 1977.
Condition Vinyl, EX+ (I refrain from using Mint unless unplayed or new & sealed.).Company Sleeve, EX.
A record of this quality does not appear on any market place all that often. Don't miss out on this one.
