Description
Live Variety show recording by the BBC . From 1961 judging by Cliff's songs. The Titles are Star Show 1 and then Star Show 2.
There are two complete shows on the album, one on each side Cliff Richard is the Special Guest of the Week' on the second show.
He performs 'Sentimental Journey' and ' Beat Out Dat Rhythm On A Drum' both accompanied by the Ted Heath Orchestra. He also plays as a Canadian mountie in a comedy sketch !
Lonnie Donegan is the guest on the first show. He performs 'Bury Me Beneath The Willow' and 'Black Cat ( Cross My Path Today), agin accompanied by Ted Heath Orchestra. Lonnie ends up in a Cockney prison dram sketch for his sins.
Other artistes are Dickie Valentine , Maureen Evans, Eddie Blair, The Zodiacs and Ted Heath and orchestra. Introduced by Paul Carpenter.
The Record has some minor surface marks but plays cleanly and labels as shown.
Transcription discs were issued in very limited quantities for distribution to BBC and client radio stations to distribute shows for broadcast.They usually have unique material and production numbers were very low,
