Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

CLEAN...SCARE...COLLECTION COPY with NO NEED FOR UPGRADE! (see details below)

RARE 45 years old Original 1970 first pressing... this was the Masters' long-awaited follow-up to their 1967 first album - now a huge pricey collectible, and even though back in the '60s though they were a top band in Australia, they were virtually unknown in the UK or USA. The Masters Apprentices had moved through R & B-based garage rock, to freakbeat, to pop-psych, before settling into a progressive style, showcasing Jim Keays' strong voice and Doug Ford's amazing guitar work!

The Masters Apprentices had changed a lot in both personnel and style by the time they issued "Masterpiece" their second LP, two and a half years after their first. It's a respectable effort finding them heading into the varied styles of hard rock, early progressive rock, and Jangle guitar folk-rock. "Masterpiece" basically collects all the songs from their scarce EMI singles – with the exception of ‘Merry-Go-Round’. It finds room for the B-sides of their last two singles. They are, respectively, the pretty, electric and acoustic guitar led ‘How I Love You’ and ‘A Dog, A Siren & Memories’, a moody jangle tale of a pet vainly waiting for the master who died a year ago in a car accident. Of the rest of the tracks, the most interesting may be ‘St. John’s Wood’, a track the group previously gave away to another Australian band, The Sect, from Brisbane in Queensland. The title track, ‘Masterpiece’ is recorded live. There are  linking musical interludes between the tracks to give the album a more cohesive format.

CONDITION: The cover: The fragile laminated cover in great shape for a 45 year old item that basically survived through the primitive nature of "teen appeal" back in the days of the turn of 1970. Rated "EX" (excellent) the cover retains vivid fresh original colors, has no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing  ... an exceptional piece worthy of virtually most any collection  ... There is a metallic gold sticker with 1970 date, looks like it came with the album release.

The vinyl: Clean and glossy over both sides, rated: "EX" (excellent) vastly clean, there are real light inner paper sleeve scuffs that mean nothing when play graded with clean excellent audio; ultimately enjoyable from first track to last track. The disc has no groove wear from the old style ceramic cartridge that potentially can, and often does, destroy the grooves of ancient '60s phonograph records. Both orange CBS are clean

A cool addition to anyone's music library!
