The great tunes on "Riot On sunset Strip" are all about the Mugwumps and songs by the Chocolate Watch Band and Standells which are the collectors items. The Standells make "Get Away From Here" sound vocally very Strawberry Alarm Clock, while loner folkrock cat, Drew delivers an above-average '60s tune, "Like My Baby." It would fit nicely any time on some college radio retro show. Dave Aguilar's Chocolate Watch Band gives the album real grit and attitude; their NON-LP tracks found only here = "Don't Need Your Lovin'" is a fierce snotty punk garage driver, and "Sitting There Standing" even meaner with wicked firey drive & attitude. C.W.B. took this opportunity seriously and it shows. The guitar fights the harp in this final tune, while the throbbing bass, drums, and vocal are pure garage rock magic, outdoing the STONES at their own game. The title track, "Riot on Sunset Strip," by The Standells is not to be overlooked with it's way-cool groove, because of Chocolate Watch Band's over the top performance. Terrific picture of the Standells on the back makes this something to put on the wall. Mike Curb's Sidewalk Productions, clearly on a mission here as the movie was hyped as "the most shocking film of our generation!," delivers vintage sounds of the day. This album has some electrifying garage rock tracks and also nicely represents a certain place in history, just before everything got out of hand flipping out on acid and psychedelia. It all seems so strangely innocent in hindsight...

CONDITION: The cover is "EX" (excellent) clean with no wear, been preserved well. Why it's not mint is only because of little shelf wear dings that are not so significant as to cause ANYONE to put it down. CLEAN.
The vinyl is all glossy clear M- TOP LEVEL nice from 43 years ago....
