TITLE: ‘ROUND MIDNIGHT CLAUDE WILLIAMSON

RECORD CONDITION: BOTH SIDES ARE VG++/VG+. NO SCRATCHES OR SCUFFS. MINOR WEAR THAT CAUSES AN OCCAISIONAL SURFACE NOISE, BUT THERE IS NO CONTINOUS RECURRING TICKS, TURN AFTER TURN. I AM VERY CAREFUL ABOUT MY GRADING. PLAY GRADED AND LISTED CONSERVATIVELY. SOUND IS VERY GOOD FOR A 50 YEAR PLUS LP.  NICE APPEARANCE. LIKE NEW LABELS.  RECORD CLEANED ON 16.5 VPI MACHINE. COVER IS VG++/VG+. ALL CORNERS AND SEAMS INTACT. LAMINATED COVER IS EXCELLENT. BACK SIDE HAS STAMP “COLLECTORS ITEM DISCONTINUED and UNAVAILABLE.  

ITEM INFORMATION: Early recording by the great Claude Williamson. The “All Music Guide” states, “Claude Williamson was one of the better bebop-oriented pianists to be active during the 1950s. This trio set with bassist Red Mitchell and drummer Mel Lewis. The repertoire (which includes such tunes as "Somebody Loves Me," "The Surrey with the Fringe on Top," "Just One of Those Things" and "The Song Is You") is typical for the time period and Williamson brings to the music his own approach to playing bop. The set is quite enjoyable and it should appeal to straight ahead jazz fans.” Beautiful mono sound, with Williamson getting support from two of the best, Red Mitchell and Mel Lewis. Not an easy disc to find in this great shape.

I am a 30-year collector of great classical, jazz, soundtracks and rock records. I started in late 2008 with a sale of a limited number of the best items in my collections. This is my fifth sale in 2010. THIS WILL BE MY LAST SALE UNTIL MAY 23rd. These records will be of the highest quality and desirability. Expect to bid on rare LP’s of Furtwangler, Bernard Herrmann, string and piano artists and jazz artists. Many fine TAS-listed or TAS-type audiophile records will be included as well. At this time I can not take wish-list items, but please add me to your favorites list for upcoming offerings.

GRADING: Sealed LP’s are noted in their description. I grade by both visual inspection and play. Mint is not used. Near Mint is my highest grade. VG++ and Near Mint should play problem free; VG+ should play problem free or with noted shortcomings noted in write-up. My description will be accurate. All items guaranteed, but I do not refund shipping costs.

I request that payment be made through PayPal only. Contact me via eBay mail if not possible. My items have no reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage. I recommend all items that sell at $100.00 plus be shipped insured. Because of the value of some items, I may at my discretion require insurance. After bid closing, insurance amount will be calculated and then added to shipping fees reflecting in your invoice.

SALE TAX: For items shipped within California, I am required to charge an additional 8.25% for state sales tax.

HANDLING CHARGES: I use a high quality Record Mailer and Bubble Wrap for all records for which I must charge a handling cost of $2.50 per mailer used. This applies to each parcel mailed, both domestic and overseas.  Parcels with multiple records have a single charge of $2.50. PLEASE INCLUDE THIS CHARGE IN YOUR PAYPAL PAYMENT!

SHIPPING CHARGES: For single LP’s, Priority Mail is $9.00 anywhere in US and $1.00 for each additional record. Media Mail is $4.00 anywhere in US for first record and $.50 for each additional record. For sets and orders of multiple records, please wait for invoice before paying.

IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: A $15.00 charge for 1st Class International Mail for 1 LP (except Canada which is $9.00 airmail). Each additional LP is an additional $2.00.  My parcels normally weigh more due to extra padding. U S Shippers are allowed to send parcels by 1st Class International Mail that weight 4 pounds or less. Parcels that weight more than 4 pounds must be sent by Priority Mail International, which is more expensive.  For all orders multiple records or sets, please wait for our invoice before paying a payment. IF ITEM(S) NEED TO BE SENT PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL & INSURED DUE TO VALUE OR WEIGHT, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A PAYMENT BEFORE YOU RECEIVE YOUR INVOICE FROM ME. FREQUENTCY OF SHIPPING: I do try and ship as quickly as I can, but sometimes it can take a week or so to send items out, depending on how many orders I have. Note that media mail can take three weeks from when I receive payment. .
