CLAIRE L. MOORE Rarest Mississppi Gospel Soul TALK OF THE TOWN 1450.
The rarest 45 in the estimable 1970’s catalog of gospel-soul and gospel-funk and funk-blues titles from the great Jackson, Mississippi label Talk Of The Town… Released in 1976 with catalog number TOT-1450… So scarce that it hasn’t even yet shown up yet in Discogs’ label discography!
The “A” side bears an “N. Baldwin - H. Griffin” songwriting credit, a couple who penned some numbers with the legendary Frederick Knight, among others… the flip side is probably a Claire Moore original, though it bears no writing credit.
Super-solid mid-tempo 70’s gospel soul here — very much in the late-1960’s/early 1970’s Jackson, Mississippi deep-soul style, NOT from the style playbook of Malaco or Hep’ Me… Really nice, wailing deep-blue grooves on these couple sides…
7” is VG — some surface marks, as one would expect. Plays through fine… VPN cleaned!
