Description (from the liner notes): “H I G H L I F E ! Native music of Africa. The highlife is something you do. It’s not really anything you can put down in words. There’s some soul to it, some Latin rhythm, some infectious Caribbean polyrhythms, but the music vocabulary of melody and rhythm is truly African. The tempos and complexity vary from different areas, but at the root there is a continental African kinship of rhythms. Here is a perfect fusillade of Highlife Hits that will brighten your party.”
