Description
Chuck Berry - “The Chess Box”
Chess/MCA Records, CH6-80,001
Front cover has an autograph. This was not in my possession when it was signed, so I cannot authenticate it. I can say that based on the images of Chuck Berry autographs I’ve found on the internet, this one LOOKS authentic. I will not go any further than that.
Box is VG-: There’s definite water damage to both covers, the result of which is a light tan staining, rather than any actual warping of the box. Corners on the outer box (front cover) are split, but it’s holding shape very well. Some scuffing on the right side of the outer box. Two seam splits on the inner box (back cover). It’s functional but far from perfect. Look at the picture, you'll get a pretty good idea.
Vinyl is VG++: In contrast to the box, the inner contents are gorgeous. The records show superficial flaws here and there, but few and far between. They have an excellent sheen on them. The booklets, likewise, look untouched.
