An original pressing mono LP. Chuck Berry's debut LP. The second LP ever released by Chess Records. One of the very first Rock & Roll LPs.

            VINYL:   
Visual grade =  VG5    -   The vinyl has some light scratches that have a minimal effect on the play.
Play grade = VG6  -   It plays and sounds very good with some light tics scattered throughout.

            LABELS:
    -     VG6 -    The labels have a lot of small light spindle marks and some light overall surface wear.

           COVER:
    -     G3 -   The cover is in two pieces, the seams are completely split. Overall surface wear is not bad, the photos still look presentable.

         INNER SLEEVE:
    -    EX8   -    The plain white inner sleeve is straight and flat with solid seams.

I encourage you to purchase multiple LPs and I will combine shipping. I will send an invoice at the end of each day that auctions end. If you have multiple purchases, please wait until they all end before paying. If you receive an invoice while you still have bids pending, then just ignore it. I need to invoice daily in order to keep track of things. For those of you who do make multiple purchases - I must insist on a 14 day window. After 14 days, the information disappears from eBay making it very difficult to keep track of things. So at the 14 day mark, I will make note of it, and invoices are then due to be paid, any further bids pending from there will start a new run.

                                             PACKAGING:     -     Records are usually packed in home made cardboard mailers. I've been doing it this way for years with no issues ever. The cardboard is folded over the records at least twice making a stronger package than the store bought mailers. I will also occasionally reuse store bought mailers from items I've purchased. 
         FEEDBACK:     -    I will leave positive feedback to everyone who pays for their purchase. However I am very slow at getting to it. I'm not a fan of eBays feedback policys, but I realize some people do value it. Please don't send nagging emails asking for feedback, as I said I will leave it for everyone who pays - I promise!



All the records I sell are from my personal collection. Most records I bought new, however I do buy records from estate sales, flea markets and privately, but they are all bought with the intention of going into my collection, or upgrading an item in my collection. I rarely buy with the intent to sell. All the records have been professionally hand cleaned and test played on my Dual 1218 with a Shure V15 cartridge and the tracking weight set at 1 gram.  If you have any problems with the records, email me and I'll try to work it out. Grading Information:
    NM9     Vinyl - Appears mint even though it may have been played very carefully a few times.
                   Labels - Look like new, possibly a very small hard to see spindle mark at the most.
                   Cover - Looks like new, with or without shrink wrap.
                   Play grade - Plays like a new record

    EX8     Vinyl - Appears mint but upon close inspection under a bright light and there may be a few light paper scuffs or very faint scratches that have no effect on the play.
                   Labels - Look like new, a couple light spindle marks at the most.
                   Cover - Looks like new, with a minor flaw.
                   Play grade - Plays like a new record

    VG7     Vinyl - Appears mint but upon close inspection there are a few light scratches that have no effect or a very minimal effect on the play. Equal to Goldmine's VG+ grade.
                   Labels - Multiple light spindle marks and possibly very light wear to the edge of the spindle hole. No wear to the artwork of the label itself.
                   Cover - Shows some light ringwear, just at the top & bottom, not a complete ring, or on a very dark colored cover it may be a complete ring, but very light. Very light edge wear, possibly very small clean edge splits, never a full or ragged split.
                   Play grade - Plays like a new record with only a few very faint tics, noticable only if you are listening for them.
 
    VG6     Vinyl - Obvious and multiple but light scratches, none that are feelable. Still a very presentable, but used record.
                   Labels - Multiple spindle marks and light wear to the edge of the spindle hole. Some light wear to the artwork of the label itself.
                   Cover - Ringwear, a complete ring, some light overall surface wear and edge wear, possibly large edge splits, still holds the record in.
                   Play grade - Plays well with only some light tics in between the tracks and / or in the lighter passages.

    VG5     Vinyl - Obvious and multiple scratches, a couple that are feelable. Still a presentable, but used record. Equal to Goldmine's VG grade
                   Labels - Multiple spindle marks and heavy wear to the edge of the spindle hole. moderate wear or ringwear on the artwork of the label itself.
                   Cover - Heavy ringwear and overall surface wear and edge wear, possibly large edge splits or an entire seam.
                   Play grade - Plays well with some of the pops and tics more into the body of the music.

    VG4, G3 -  VG minus and Good = progressively worse wear but still a playable and listenable record. A Good record is still good, it has the maximum wear in which it is still a good listening experience. Visually it will have multiple scratches, but it will play with the music sounding well, no distortion, but lots of pops and crackles throughout. It is "Good Enough" to fill a collection until a better one comes along. I generally will not sell (or collect) a record in these conditions unless they are rare and difficult to find any better.

    F2, P1 -  Fair and Poor = A record that skips and / or sounds distorted. Sentimental value only, no monetary value. Someone found it in a dumpster or a swamp.
