Description

A complete masterpiece that needs no introduction. While the brilliant, almost side-long collision of African 'cussions and free jazz on Chris McGregor's "Night Poem" captivated me as a younger man, I'm lately turning more and more to side A, a freewheelin' Ellington-on-acid romp which includes the haunting "Davashe's Dance". A classic recording and a classic piece of vintage vinyl. I'll be sad to see it go and I hope it finds a nice home.

This RCA/Neon (with the cool Venus on a clam label art) all-analogue original is EX, play is all but flawless :)   I will admit the gatefold cover has some ringwear front and back, a non-ink promo stamp on the upper right front corner, two very old blank cassette labels on the back (they're not covering anything and I'm sure you could remove them but they just never bothered me), a three inch seam split on the bottom, and a small rubber stamp on the label that reads "Exile records" ;)   On an up note the inside of the gate with the cool African statues is in great shape. Overall, while certainly not trashed, I couldn't grade this sleeve higher than VG. Wear but not much tear, just want to be accurate....
