Description
A classic album from Chet with help from some well noted musicians ( see back cover photo). I believe this is the original deep groove pressing from 1959 with the small Riverside label. Matrix info is as follows - for Side One - RLP-12-299-A and for Side Two - RLP-12-299-B . The cover is in about very good condition with a few problems- there is some creasing and some water damage on the bottom right corner (see photo). It's not that noticeable on the front cover but is seen on the back cover. The cover has an about 4 1/2 seam split on the top right side- there is a small piece of Scotch tape holding it together. 3 of the 4 corners do have some wear on them. There are also two tiny staple holes ( someone probably removed a price tag). The vinyl - appears to be in very good ++ condition- it doesn't look like the album was played much but there are some small dings here and there. The album does play through but with some pops/clicks here and there. "Alone Together " has about 6 light clicks near the intro and then quiets down. "How High The Moon" plays much quieter. "It Never Entered My Mind" has a small scratch which cause 3 loud pops. later a few light clicks occur. " "Tis Autumn" plays much quieter. On Side Two" , "If You Could See Me Now" starts off a little noisily then quiets down. There are a few clicks once the song ends and before "September Song" starts. "September Song" played okay for me and on "You'd Be So Nice...", I heard a click. "Time On My Hands" played with 6-7 light clicks and lastly "You And The Night.." played much better. On the whole , the album is still very listenable with some distractions.
