Description
This is interesting. You know what an acetate is, right? That's a (hopefully) final mix cut to a disc for the artist and producer(s) to approve before it's cut to vinyl and put out as a record. Well, this is, as it says on the label, a Test Pressing. This is beyond the acetate stage, and was cut to get approval and reaction from disc jockies before committing to label artwork and final vinyl production. I don't have a copy of the Earche My Eye single as it finally came out, so I don't know if this remained the edit or not. It's over when the Dad voice says "turn that thing down!" And when he rips it off the kid's turntable, causing a complaint from the youth. On the album I remember it gets even funnier, with some corporal punishment, etc. (Cheech and Chong's Wedding Album). ANYWAY, here's the EARACHE MY EYE test pressing they tested on major market DJs. I realize it says nothing on the label on either side--they must have been in a real hurry! Both sides sound the same to me, and the only way to know the difference is by the matrix etching △95141 AND △95142. Probably retain more value if you don't write the title on it.
