Title: Charlie Rich - Lonely Weekends CONDITION: Record: THERE IS NO RECORD! You are bidding on the ONLY the cover. Sleeve: VG+ to VG++ condition. Clean glossy laminated front cover. Small ding in lower left corner. Upper & lower right corner creases. Light edge wear. Light wear on the back with slight H2O stain at right edge of back cover slick. Nice spine. No writing, stickers, seam splits etc. Label: Phillips International PLP1970 Overall Condition: Very NICE frameable copy of this beautiful RARE Lp cover! Description: Back in the day when Sam Phillips ruled the world, or at least his section of it in Memphis, Tennessee, he put out some of the greatest music on his SUN Records label. Legendary blues, country, rockabilly, rock & roll. An amazing but short run. He thought it would be a good idea to spread out his empire so he started Phillips International Records. I guess he thought this was the next big step. He only was able to issue 8 total Lps and a bunch of 45s on this label. Some of the Lps you wouldn't want to listen to even if you could find them. Schlock & spiritual along with the good stuff. God only knows what possessed him to put out some of this stuff. Apparently he printed up a bunch of covers 'cause they were cheap to make. He waited for the orders to come in so he could then press up the records as needed & ship 'em out. Scoring with a few 45 hits by Carl Mann and Charlie Rich, the Lp orders never really materialized so the covers occasionally show up minus the records. Finding the complete package on each of the 8 Lps is near impossible(I have all the Lp covers, but only have 4 of the 8 with records). The 2 R'N'B/blues Lps by Frank Ballard & Frank Frost are virtually impossible to find. The Rich & Mann Lps are the most available, though usually in dubious condition, & desireable due the R'N'R/rockabilly nature of the music. If you are lucky enough to have the record for this cover then this auction is for you! Put your record in this real presentable cover and you have a RARE piece of rock history, worth a bunch of $$, most record collectors have never seen! A complete one of these just sold on Ebay for $515.00, sooo...the cover by itself has got to be worth something. IMPORTANT NOTE: When shipping records I use proper LP Mailers with at least 2 pieces of cardboard. I remove the record from the cover and put item in outer plastic sleeve to prevent against further wear and split seams (If Factory Sealed I DO NOT open it!). I've been collecting for over 35 years and I pack records the way I would want them packed so they arrive safely. I grade records conservatively the way I would want them graded for myself. All sealed albums are guaranteed to be ORIGINAL SEALED and sold as a SEALED ALBUM. Once you open the Lp it is NOT RETURNABLE. Should you be dissatisfied with any sealed Lp, you may return it for a refund of the purchase price, minus shipping cost, provided it is returned in the same condition as sent.
