Description
Out-of-print (4) LP boxset from Charles Mingus titled "The Complete 1959 CBS Charles Mingus Sessions" released by Mosaic Records (MQ4-143) in 1993. This set is a hand-numbered 0953 of 2,500 limited edition pressings on audiophile 180 gram quality vinyl. Has 26 compositions including some previously unissued versions taken from the sessions that produced the "Mingus Ah Um" and "Mingus Dynasty" albums. All vinyl records are in plastic dust sleeves. Comes with a 16-page booklet with photos and well-written, informative details about Charles Mingus and the CBS recording sessions. As you well know, all of Mosaic's releases are of the utmost quality and taste.

- 1, 3 and 7, 21 previously unissued alternates
- 2, 4-5, 8-11 and 14-15 as Mingus Ah Um (Columbia CL1370 mono and CS8171 stereo)
- 16-17, 19-20 and 22-26 as Mingus Dynasty (Columbia CL1440 mono and CS8236 stereo)
- 5-6, 8-13, 16-18, 22-23 and 26 as "Nostalgia In Times Square" (Columbia JG35717) in 1979.
Details of the condition: All labels are in EXCELLENT/MINT- condition with some slight spindle scuffmarks around centerholes. Vinyl records were played with great care on a high quality turntable and condition ranges from VG++ to MINT- with a few very slight sleeve marks and slight surface blemish. Vinyl glistens like brand new and shows no sign of playwear.
Booklet is in EXCELLENT condition.
Outer box is in VG++ condition with some very light shelfwear and has a small tear at lower right corner of front paste-on.

I use quality cardboard mailers designed for shipping records and take great care in packaging to protect your investment.
