He first introduced the infamous line 'OK, let's give it to 'em right now' and changed Louie Louie from a calypso into a rock 'n' roll song. A native New Yorker he came to the Pacific Northwest as a child with his folks and settled in Tacoma. He started his crooning career with Little Bill and the Blue Notes, but the Fabulous Wailers quickly stole him away as a featured vocalist. Perhaps his most significant contribution to rock and roll came when he scored a copy of Richard Berry's 'Louie Louie' in a Tacoma thrift store.

This version of the song was recorded in 1961 and released in 1962 on their own Etiquette Records label. It achieved regional success - but a couple years later the Kingsmen would cover it and hit the motherlode. In the mid 60's, Robin moved to California to teach, but was unfortunately killed in a flaming car crash on December 22, 1967. Read more HERE

Up for grabs is an obscure Canadian release of the Etiquette debut! This is the only copy I've ever seen in over 20 years of collecting!
