Artist / Title: Carpenters / Self Titled 

Release Info: A&M (SP 3502) - Pre-release Test Pressing from 1971. This is from the collection of a former A&M employee. Comes in original envelope styled cover with embossed lettering to front. I’m not sure which pressing plant this was manufactured by. The only indicator is “HI” etched on both sides. 

Matrix info as follows: 

Side 1: A&M SP 3503 - HI  

Side 2: A&M SP 3504 - HI 

Condition: Cover shows light shelf wear as shown. A bit of paper loss due to silverfish along edges. Vinyl has nice gloss with a couple of cosmetic marks that do not affect play. Plays with light occasional audibles, mostly between songs.

After some additional research, H.V. Waddell was a pressing plant based  in Los Angeles. My best guess is that only the test pressing was made at this plant, making it quite unique. Subsequent pressings were made at other plants.
